WordPress Coding – SEO Ready – Search Engine Optimized
I came across a Webmaster’s blog talking about Real Webmaster’s should not be using WordPress to design websites. The thought from the Webmaster was that the coding does not follow Google guidelines. Ok there are thousands of WordPress theme developers out there and some are good and some are bad. So to say WordPress in general does not follow Google guidelines is wrong or an opinion to sell the fact that his are built straight from code. Ok I know you spent years going to school and learning coding, but the internet changes all the time and you’re probably unhappy that with technology, code is left for theme developers and Web Designers that lock you in to them because many web designers do not build from code. Many use WordPress or a few other content management systems. Code developers tend not to be great at Design either, well not in this guy’s case anyways. His site looks like it was built ten years ago based on design and layout.
WordPress Coding Updates with The Internet
When the Internet, Google, and other search engines have updates, sometimes the code is not always up to date. Then the only ones that can bring it up to date are coders. The updates through WordPress come directly from WordPress and good theme developers. When the client has a disagreement with the Web Designer and wants to take the site with him, many designers will not do it and will want to work with what most everyone uses, which is WordPress. Also, some clients have in-house employees that are capable of editing a Word Press site and blogging. Due to the fact that quality blog posts are important to keep pushing the SEO, many companies blog daily and are large enough to have an employee write the content for the post and maintain it. The only downside is that each blog needs to be SEO ready and that would need to be taught or studied, otherwise it can affect overall site rankings.
This is one of the reasons I switched from Rapidweaver, which is Mac Based Web Design software to WordPress. People always ask if they can edit the site after being built and they do not want to buy the software. Consumer awareness is already developed with WordPress. I have not spoken with anyone that is not at least somewhat familiar with WordPress.
SEO Factor of Using WordPress is Excellent
SEO Ready with WordPress was a big factor also for me. WordPress has some great plugins for SEO that if utilized properly can work very well. I have been able to work wonders with the All in One SEO plug-in for WordPress and their support is excellent. I wasn’t sure if WordPress was as good as I researched, but I was not happy with my limits from other software. Through a lot of hard work and tedious Titles, Descriptions, image optimizing and on and on, it paid off.
I see a lot of sites with only the home page being search engine optimized. Not sure why, maybe lazy or client only wanted to pay X amount of dollars.
The Internet is always advancing and changing, but if we sit still, were going backwards. I like the challenge of creation and helping clients grow their business. It is a very rewarding feeling to hear a client say that the new website is getting great activity and turning viewers into dollars. A Magnificent website can pay for itself quickly and in some businesses, the first client they obtain can be 5 times the cost of the Website. In some cases be even more or less depending on the business.
Also, at my old age, I am happy to keep my mind evolving. Well just kidding, but there is truth in the statement.
